During my recent business trip organized by my director, I had the pleasure of staying at the Morritt. The location was convenient, allowing easy access to various dining options. The highlight of my experience was undoubtedly the Garage Spa. I spent a wonderful afternoon indulging in the spa facilities, which included both indoor and outdoor hot tubs, a steam room, and a sauna. Each element was carefully designed to create a sense of well-being and total relaxation. I especially enjoyed the serene atmosphere of the secret garden and the tranquil lounges, perfect for unwinding after a busy day. The entire spa experience provided a refreshing escape from my everyday routine, leaving me rejuvenated and ready to tackle the next challenges.
Had to ask twice for towels.

the fish was clearly frozen and tasteless, and the mushy peas lacked any flavor. My son and I both ended up feeling ill afterward. Such a letdown!

The room was very large, comfortable bed. Dinner and breakfast food was amazing. It was a traditional hotel ideally set in the very very nice area.

Had fairly nice stay at our last visit, the staff were polite, location was unbeatable in the bar area which was very pleasant. The hotel was ideally located really close to the restaurant which was mediocre and lovely gardens. Also, Egglestone Abbey was 5 km away.

The provided database offered an extensive selection of drink options, perfect for enjoying time outside on the patio. As I walked through the room to reach the dining area, I noticed how well-lit and inviting the common spaces were.
I did encounter a minor issue with the Wi-Fi connection, which occasionally faltered.

Potential for a very good venue, but compromised by catering for both weddings and guests with a consequent loss of service.
restaurant service was 1 1/2 hours for 2 courses. seating restricted on a time basis. food was poor and small portions

Unfortunately a very boisterous wedding party made merry until 12.30 and three buses started their engines under our window and a great deal of noise was made boarding. By 1.30 am they had departed but two old pensioners did not have a good nights sleep.

I was eager to visit Whorlton Bridge, drawn by its historical significance and picturesque views. Choosing the Morritt for my stay was a perfect decision. I was pleasantly surprised by the ample parking available, making it convenient to explore the area. After a day of sightseeing, enjoying a drink and light bite in Gilroy's Bar was good; the Dickens-inspired mural adds a charming touch, and the warm atmosphere along with a good pint made my evening nice. I also indulged in their Afternoon Tea, which included a refreshing glass of bubbly, a good selection of sandwiches, and freshly made scones that were heavenly.
Some garden furniture was a bit worn, and our room showed signs of age, particularly with a sticking bathroom door and a dirty hair dryer. We notified the staff about these issues, and they were very accommodating, but it was a slight inconvenience.

The reception staff were very welcoming and efficient. The restaurant staff and the food were of high standard.
The 4 poster bed in our room (no. 3) was a bit of a let down appearing to be a modern imitation made of moulded fibre glass with indistinct "carvings". Disappointing in comparison with the antique furniture throughout the rest of the hotel.

Spent Christmas here and the staff were super friendly! The breakfast options were lovely, and dinner was quite nice too. Plus, it's in a fab location for exploring the surrounding area-perfect for a winter getaway.
The rooms were a letdown. The decor felt stuck in the past, and the carpets were pretty shabby. Our bed was super uncomfortable, and we noticed that housekeeping didn’t really keep up with the basics like fresh towels or tea supplies. it could use a big update!
